Denia is one of the most versatile starting points on the Costa Blanca: within a few miles you have the clear, rocky coastline of Las Rotas, the cliffs of the Montgó on the way to Javea, and, further out, the open route to Ibiza and Formentera. Hiring a boat lets you anchor at your own pace, without relying on road access to reach each cove.
Boat hire in Denia covers sailing yachts, catamarans, motorboats and larger yachts, skippered or bareboat. Bareboat charter requires a licence recognised in Spain (an ICC or equivalent); without one, a local skipper handles the navigation and knows which anchorages off Las Rotas and the Montgó are sheltered in the day's wind.
The season runs from April to October — a little longer than in much of the Mediterranean, thanks to the Costa Blanca's mild climate. In July and August it pays to book ahead, especially if your plan includes a multi-day crossing to Ibiza or Formentera.
