9-night cruise on the classic wooden sailing ship "Rhea" to discover the island of Antigua and its nearby islands Barbuda, St. Barth, Saba and Montserrat.
The unique natural harbours of English and Falmouth Harbour and the World Heritage listed Nelsons Dockyard in the south of the island have always been the "hot spot" for yachtsmen in the Caribbean. But also 365 beaches and beautiful nature, for example along the Fig Tree Road, make Antigua an ideal place for a very relaxing trip around this island and neighbouring Barbuda.
The inland passage inside the coral reef to the leeward Five Island Bay in the west and the winding entrance to Nonsuch Bay to windward, where we anchor behind the reef for swimming and snorkelling, are just two of the highlights. On the sparsely populated coral island of Barbuda, unique endless beaches await, such as Low Bay, where there are plenty of turtles. 14 km of uncrowded beach with mother-of-pearl-coloured shells that give the sand a pinkish tinge. And above all the unique frigate bird reserve, where many thousands of these birds nest in the mangroves.
All this combined with great sailing in the trade winds, where you can almost always see flying fish, pelicans and sometimes even humpback whales. This is pure Caribbean.
Last but not least, Antigua can be reached by a direct flight with Condor from Frankfurt airport... and to stay in a hotel we recommend to book a hotel in Antigua. And for hotel accommodation we recommend the historic Admirals Inn in Nelson's Dockyard!
Ideal for those looking for a unique holiday with a small group of like-minded people. No previous sailing experience or knowledge is required, and we sail with a professional and friendly international crew. The languages spoken on the boat are German and English.
The Navega Mediterraneo team will help you with all the arrangements for your trip with a dedicated 360º service for your total peace of mind during the booking process, trip preparation, and during your trip with telephone and email support in English or Spanish.
