On this 6-day voyage aboard the Santa Maria Manuela, we depart from the lively festive port of Castellon, cross the Strait of Gibraltar and head north to Portugal's historic capital, Lisbon.
She volunteers to help the crew hoist and set the sails. The feeling of helming a 68-metre sailing yacht and feeling how it responds to the helm's commands is something to savour forever. Our crew love nothing more than sharing their sailing knowledge with our guests, and will encourage you to take an active part in the sailing of the boat.
Knots lessons are a great way to learn a new skill while sharing sailing stories with your fellow crew members, and weather permitting, there is the opportunity to climb the mast or relax on the bowsprit. A sundowner on deck is the perfect way to end each day.
Lisbon beckons as we sail down the Tagus River under the city's famous suspension bridge, the Ponte 25 de Abril. After disembarking, you can immerse yourself in Lisbon's vibrant culture, with its Fado music, historic neighbourhoods such as Alfama and stunning viewpoints. Visit the Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
In April, the weather is usually mild and sunny, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 20°C, but it is advisable to bring a jumper and a waterproof jacket, as nights can be cool and rainfall is frequent at this time of year.
