Leave the bustling streets and traditional music of Dublin behind as you sail past centuries-old castles, watchful lighthouses and Ireland's rugged coastline. With the ocean stretching out before you, a quiet sense of freedom comes over you: this is not just a departure, but the beginning of a spiritual journey.
We head north along spectacular coastlines and scattered islands, sailing alongside the Hebrides and remote cliffs rich in wildlife. It is a voyage for those seeking fresh air, the creak of sails and the motion of a historic ship driven by the wind.
Throughout the trip, the crew will invite you to participate: hoisting and trimming the sails, taking the helm, tying maritime knots in the onboard workshops or even climbing the mast. Whether you prefer to immerse yourself in the sailing experience or simply enjoy a quiet moment on deck, there is room for both.
In Kirkwall, the heart of Orkney, you're greeted by rolling green hills and Viking echoes. Walk its cobbled streets, admire the majestic St Magnus Cathedral and explore prehistoric sites such as the Earl's Palace and Skara Brae. Keep your eyes peeled for puffins, seals and the quiet beauty of island life.
Next, we cross the legendary North Sea to Norway. Arrival in Bergen is unforgettable: fjords and forested hills surround the city, while colourful wooden buildings line the old Hanseatic quay of Bryggen. On land, you'll find a lively culture, fresh seafood and warm smiles - an inspiring end to a true North Sea adventure.
Meteorology: May brings long daylight hours and generally mild weather, with temperatures between 10C and 15C. Days gradually lengthen, offering up to 17 hours of sunlight. Expect a mix of sunshine and occasional showers, with a cooling sea breeze. Cool sea breezes, occasional drizzle and shifty North Atlantic skies are expected, ideal for comfortable sailing with a waterproof jacket at hand.
