Historical schooner cruise in Portimao and Cadiz
Join us on a 5-day sailing adventure aboard the Santa Maria Manuela, departing and returning to Portimão, with a stop in the historic Spanish city of Cadiz.
This short but enriching trip offers the perfect balance between practical sailing and cultural exploration. Whether you are new to sailing or already familiar with life at sea, you will have the opportunity to join the crew in sailing this magnificent ship and enjoy the rhythm of life aboard a traditional sailing vessel.
We set sail from Portimão, sailing south along the Algarve coast before crossing the Gulf of Cadiz. Arriving in Cadiz by sea offers a memorable view of the city's historic skyline. Once on land, you can explore its narrow streets, ancient walls and wide squares. Cadiz is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe and a key port in Spanish naval history.
After a day of exploration, we set sail back to the Portuguese coast, giving you more time to immerse yourself in life at sea: hoisting the sails, steering the ship or simply enjoying the ocean views. Evenings are for quiet reflection on deck, playing games or sharing stories under the stars.
