We set sail from the beautiful city of Dublin, where Irish hospitality, maritime history and music fill the air. This historic port, with its rich seafaring past, bids us a warm farewell as we sail south across the Irish Sea and out into the Atlantic.
The Irish coastline is left behind as you embark on an authentic sea crossing. Feel the open ocean as the Santa Maria Manuela unfurls her sails and heads for Galicia, crossing the Bay of Biscay into Spain.
Volunteer to help the crew hoist and set the sails; the sensation of steering a 68-metre sailboat and feeling its response to the helm is unforgettable. Knot classes are a great way to learn a new skill while sharing stories with your fellow crew members. Weather permitting, you can climb the mast or relax on the bowsprit. A sundowner on deck is the perfect way to end each day at sea.
Disembark in A Coruña, a proud Galician port city with deep roots in Atlantic trade. Here, the sea shapes daily life: from the bustling fish markets to the ancient Roman lighthouse, the Tower of Hercules. The rhythms of traditional Galician music and the rich seafood cuisine reflect a culture forged by centuries of maritime exchange.
This voyage aboard the majestic Santa Maria Manuela offers an authentic experience of sailing the high seas and a unique window into two distinct but connected maritime worlds.
In June the weather is usually fairly stable and moderate in both Dublin and A Coruña. With average temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
